We’re supporting our client, a leading global engineering company based in Shelby, North Carolina who are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Manager will have experience of leading maintenance activities.
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000

Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Manager, you will supervise work involving multiple maintenance skill sets to keep machines, mechanical/ electrical equipment, the structure of the building/ infrastructure in repair. Areas of responsibilities to include welding, machining, refractory, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment and repairing buildings, floors or stairs.
Responsibilities:
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings.
- Manage programs and processes such as Lock-Out Tag-Out, Confined Space, Hot Work Permit, Forklift Inspections, Chain and Sling Inspections, Fall Protection.
- Responsible for on-going training and development of maintenance staff.
- Monitor employees’ work levels and review work performance.
- Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems.
- Communicate with production team to coordinate installations or repairs.
- Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on equipment failures to determine causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage Preventative Maintenance Program ensuring PMs are performed on schedule and adjust frequencies and/or scope as needed based on equipment reliability.
- Confer with coworkers to resolve equipment problems.
- Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products.
- Develop and maintain a budget for the department while ensuring materials, supplies, or equipment are ordered as needed.
- Maintain repair of maintenance records.
- Coordinate all routine work and inspections on critical systems and equipment.
- Schedule, coordinate and manage contract crews as necessary for repair / project work.
- Perform shutdown planning coordinating all activities and ensuring assignments are made and work performed properly.
About You:
- Mechanical and or Electrical certifications.
- 5 years’ experience leading maintenance activities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Sharp focus and drive for accurate results.
- High level of initiative and self-driven culture
- Ability to develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles preferred.
- High School education or equivalent, along with formal certification in electronics/hydraulics/or mechanical disciplines.
