We’re supporting our client, a leading recycling-based manufacturer based in St Peters, Missouri who are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Technician will have experience in performing routine inspections and maintenance to prevent breakdowns, execute repairs while working in a high demand environment.
 
Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring reliability and performance of both our mobile and fixed equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with limited supervision. This role will be responsible for completing inspections, conducting preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment (both fixed and mobile machinery) to minimize downtime while ensuring optimal life cycles of the equipment.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, service and repair all equipment including trucks, tractors, trailers, lugger trucks, roll-off trucks, choppers, balers, conveyors, shears, cranes, excavators, loaders, skid steers, fork trucks and other heavy equipment.

About You:

  • Must be experienced in performing routine inspections and maintenance to prevent breakdowns, execute repairs while working in a high demand environment.
  • An understanding of electrical theory, control circuits, and motor controls is essential for troubleshooting and repairing both fixed and mobile equipment. Understanding and experience with industrial machinery and systems including PLCs and control systems is a plus.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting hydraulic pumps, valves, and cylinders.
  • Experience with cutting, welding and fabrication.
  • Ability to accurately read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to work under pressure while troubleshooting and diagnosing the root cause of equipment failures.
  • Ability to identify job hazards while working in compliance with all safety regulations, environmental policies and industry standards.
  • Capable of looking at the bigger picture of things while troubleshooting and finding the root cause for the down time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, where priorities change rapidly.
  • An Associate’s degree or program certificate in industrial technology, automation, heavy mobile equipment repair or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
