Shift Pattern:               Either 1st Shift (5am – 1:30pm) or 2nd Shift (1:30pm – 10pm)

 
We’re supporting our client, a leading metal manufacturer based in Warren, Michigan who are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Manufacturing Engineer will have stamping plant or automotive industry related experience.

 
Job Summary:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the manufacturing function by reviewing and improving manufacturing processes and developing new processes in the pursuit of continuous improvement.

 
Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support for programming and integration of robots and PLC controls.
  • Manage in-house Manufacturing Engineering projects to include budget and delivery.
  • Design and build electrical controls for equipment built in-house.
  • Implement process improvements incorporating error proofing.
  • Pursue cycle time reduction.
  • Assist Quality and Manufacturing with implementation of Preventative/ Corrective Actions.
  • Assist on special projects as assigned.
  • Train manufacturing in the operation of new equipment and equipment built in-house.
  • Provide customer support as required.
  • Other Quality and Manufacturing related activities, as needed.

 
About You:

  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Must have stamping plant or automotive industry, or transferable experience.
  • Must be familiar with MIOSHA requirements.
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic concepts.
  • Must be willing and able to drive, and work, at all facilities – same area
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • Experience reading and creating electrical schematics
  • PLC Programming experience – Allen Bradley
  • Hands-on experience in electrical controls
  • Minimum 5-years’ work experience.
  • Must possess effective communication skills, must have the ability to train fellow employees and communicate ideas to others.
