NPI Project Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading Injection Moulding manufacturer based in Sutton Coldfield, who are looking for a NPI Project Engineer to join their growing team. The successful NPI Project Engineer will have experience of Injection Moulding, Project management and APQP, PPAP, PSW processes.

Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinating and controlling projects from concept to post production launch of new and modified components, ensuring delivery to timing deadlines, cost and quality are achieved
- Experience within the plastic injection moulding field with automotive experience
- Based in the Site 1 NPI office on a 5 day, 08:00-16:30 core hours, (can be flexible)
- Manage the project within budget
- Plan project requirements and resources, including the sourcing of sub contract elements, etc.
- Anticipate any potential project risks, identifying and establishing corrective actions
- Produce deliverables on-time to customer requirements
- Maintain the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) processes, as well as the internal Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) reviews
- Track tasks against the project timing plan
- Be willing and available to work at customer premises as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities
- Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients
- Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
- Adhere to company NPI processes
- Be an effective team member, working with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output
- Meeting Health and Safety standards supporting others to do the same
- Any other reasonable duties required
- Must have a full UK driving licence (Occasional requirement to visit customer/supplier sites)
About You:
- Able to work in a team environment and also on your own initiative. Communicate effectively using a variety of different methods at all levels of the business with a positive attitude and drive to get things completed
- HNC/HND in Engineering field
- Manufacturing/Engineering degree
- Read and interpret engineering component drawings
- Good understanding of Engineering principles
- Prince2 / PMP
- Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Microsoft Project
- Automotive customer portals and systems
- Project management experience within the Automotive sector
- Background in the high volume automotive industry supply chain
