We’re supporting our client, a leading metals manufacturer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in hiring a Project Manager to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong project management experience in manufacturing or construction, and a solid understanding of metal terminology.
 
Role Summary:

As a Project Manager, you’ll oversee projects nationwide—from estimating and procurement through scheduling, execution, and close‑out. You’ll act as the central liaison between customers, crews, subcontractors, and internal leadership, ensuring projects meet specifications, quality standards, and profit targets.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Lead project meetings including job kick‑offs and daily safety huddles, ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
  • Estimate projects during bidding phases and prepare competitive proposals.
  • Issue purchase orders to customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and manage crew scheduling and customer interaction.
  • Conduct pre‑job meetings to review timelines, scope, and expectations.
  • Provide direction and scope of work to Foremen during project kick‑
  • Manage procurement including materials, vendor accounts, invoices, tool lists, and rental equipment.
  • Monitor project performance to ensure alignment with budgets, estimates, and timelines.
  • Support manpower scheduling alongside the President.
  • Act as liaison between Staff, Safety Coordinator, and crew to uphold company policies.
  • Arrange freight for tools and equipment with the traffic department.
  • Assist Sales with quotations, cost additions, and scope gap resolution.
  • Support cost projections with the President.
  • Coordinate logistics including hotels and jobsite directions.
  • Collaborate with Fabrication PM on fabrication scheduling when required.

 
About You:

  • A Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Able to read mechanical blueprints
  • Strong metal terminology knowledge
  • 5+ years’ experience in a related role
  • Vendor relationships or industry vendor familiarity
  • Technical education preferred (2‑year technical diploma or 4‑year BS degree)
