Job Description

Quality Engineer – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading automotive manufacturing client based in West Bromwich, who are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Quality Engineer will be accountable for all quality support to the group and will report to the managing director.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all teams and site support work to and maintain accreditation ISO 9001/2015
  • Maintain a professional appearance and presence during all customer site visits and meetings attended.
  • Deliver improvements on plant QC’s year on year.
  • Support and ensure 8d’s and CI projects are supported, and all improvements are made with detailed action plans.
  • Undertake further training to ensure that you can perform all related duties.
  • Though primarily based at the company this position will also involve travelling and assisting at MAL, as and when required.
  • Work with engineers and production to reduce off standards .
  • Control PSW and PPAP files, including Press Trials and all NPI.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Actively lead the implementation of our Health and Safety Policy and Health and Safety Management System within areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work.
  • Ensure accidents, ill health and ‘near miss incidents at work are investigated, recorded, and reported, supported by MD
  • Communicate and consult with staff on health and safety issues.
  • Encourage staff to report hazards and raise health and safety concerns.
  • Ensure welfare facilities are provided and maintained in a satisfactory state.
  • Ensure premises, plant and work equipment are maintained in a safe condition.
  • Refer any safety issues that cannot be dealt with to your MD
  • Ensure that health and safety rules are followed by all.

About You:

  • You must have the capacity to bring logical thought processes and impartiality to solve practical problems and assist in Identifying improvement activities throughout the site, adding value and continuous improvements.
  • You must have the ability to work unsupervised, use initiative and manage your own time, in a busy fast paced environment.
