We’re supporting our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer based in West Hartford, Connecticut who are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Quality Engineer will have quality experience in manufacturing, as well as experience with MRB, RMA, RCCA and Gage R&R.
 
Job Summary:

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring products and processes meet customer, statutory, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. A primary focus of this role is the investigation and disposition of customer RMAs, development of robust Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) responses, and prevention of recurrence through systemic improvement. This position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customers to drive continuous improvement, protect the customer, and strengthen the Quality Management System (QMS).
 
Responsibilities:

  • Lead investigation of customer RMAs and internal nonconformances, including hands-on inspection and failure analysis.
  • Support and participate in MRB activities and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Develop, implement, and verify effective RCCA using structured problem-solving tools.
  • Prepare and submit customer-facing RCCA reports.
  • Track corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
  • Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Create ballooned drawings and AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Support PPAP and customer approval processes.
  • Define in-process inspection points and SPC plans.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 / AS 13100.
  • Maintain quality documentation and specifications.
  • Support audits and corrective action follow-up.
  • Support supplier quality and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
  • Analyze quality data and trends.
  • Perform gage studies and support metrology.
  • Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5+ years quality experience in manufacturing.
  • AS9100 / AS13100 knowledge.
  • Experience with MRB, RMA, RCCA, Gage R&R
  • Drawing and GD&T interpretation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • AS9102 FAIR experience is preferred.
  • SPC, PPAP, PFMEA knowledge is preferred.
  • Lean / Six Sigma familiarity is preferred.
