We’re supporting our client, a global, leading manufacturer based in Worcester, who are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their growing team.
 
Job Summary: As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll strengthen our supply chain and ensure our suppliers consistently deliver on quality, cost, service, and reliability. You’ll work closely with Engineering and Quality teams but sit within the Procurement group, driving supplier performance and supporting major localisation projects.
 
Responsibilities for Supplier Quality Engineer:

  • Select & Audit New Vendors – Approve new suppliers, conduct audits, and support localisation of Marine product supply.
  • Manage the Supplier Base – Maintain accurate supplier records and support ongoing performance reviews.
  • Support New Product Introduction – Lead supplier readiness, process audits, and Launch Readiness Reviews.
  • Drive Supplier Resourcing – Manage supplier transfers, tooling moves, PPAP approvals, and cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Assess Supplier Capability – Conduct surveys and evaluate quality systems, capacity, and technical capability.
  • Develop Supplier Processes – Approve manufacturing processes, tooling, and controls to ensure quality and delivery.
  • Resolve Supplier Quality Issues – Analyse performance, drive corrective actions, and support root‑cause problem solving.
  • You will be expected to support the design and development of products through Advanced Product Quality Planning. You will support all European based projects and be responsible for leading the co-ordination of quality activities for products manufactured in other regions (Asia & N.America)
  • You will be responsible for modelling the way in terms of APQP diciplines, AAR objectivity, Lessons Learnt and FMEA processes. PPAP generation is a key part of the role.
  • You will be responsible for implementing & maintaining a framework of procedures (TS16949) and practices

 
About You:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Quality (preferred)
  • 3–5 years in Supplier Development or Supplier Quality Assurance
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, 8D
  • Fluent in English; second language preferred
  • Ability to travel across Europe at short notice
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Poka‑Yoke, SPC
  • Certified Quality Engineer (preferred)
