Get to know the team – Matt Reynolds

1)What’s your name and job title?

Matt Reynolds, Director.

2)How long have you worked at Willcox Matthews?

Since the company started in August 2018.

3)What does your job entail?

Battling my never-ending to-do list and avoiding daily angry emails from the Office Manager to make sure I’ve completed the quiz before the deadline.

4)What is a typical day like?

Get up, wake kids, feed kids, wash up, get clothes ready for kids, dress kids, make kids brush their teeth, tidy rooms, feed dog, get dressed myself, get kids shoes on, take kids to school. Go to work for a rest. 

5)Favourite memory from your time at work?

The first day – The build up to the first day with all the planning and preparation was overwhelming and that first day was a mixture of apprehension and excitement. Will never forget that feeling.

6)What’s an ideal client?

We have quite a few who are just an absolute pleasure to work with. Very easy, lovely communications, quick feedback / interviewing and has a working environment that people love working in. 

7)What advice would you offer for someone who wants to be in your industry?

Don’t!!! There is too much competition as it is!!!

8)What do you like most about your job?

The office banter – 100%.

9)What do you find most challenging about your job?

Working with Matthew Dutton …

10)Where are you from?

Born and bred in Worcester. I do love where I live and with family and friends all close together can’t imagine me living anywhere else.

11)Where did you go to school?

Nunnery Wood High School, Worcester.

12)What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Spending time with family, camping, DIY in the house and watching sport.

13)What do you follow outside of work (sports / theatre / tv shows / comics)?

Love watching football especially Everton but do love the theatre and stand up shows but not a fan of concerts at all.

14)What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

I can turn my eyelids inside out and freak out people.

15)What was your first paying job?

Berrows Worcester journal paper round. Not the nice kind. The weekend papers with tonnes of leaflets / brochures in that had to put in every single paper before delivery. Awful job that took 5 hours and gained me £20.

16)Do you have a pet?

Beautiful dog called Biscuit who we rescued last year. We have had a few Hamsters over the years for the “kids” to look after. Never again!!!

17)What’s one thing you’re really good at / one thing you’re really bad at?

I have a fantastic memory when it comes to movie songs / quotes but awful memory when it comes to people’s names. Possibly the worst negative to have in my industry.

18)What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

Kindle e reader with 1000 books with solar power pack, a hat because I burn very easily and a yoyo.

19)If you could have a career in anything, what would it be?

F1 racer – being paid millions to drive around in circles is incredible

20)If you could meet anyone (real / fictional) who would it be and why?

Apparently, everyone in the world has a “twin” out there. I would like to find them and find out if they get grief for loading the dishwasher incorrectly.
