Worcestershire Works Well – Level 1 Achievement

Last week, on Thursday 2nd Sept, Willcox Matthews was awarded the Level 1 accreditation for Worcestershire Works Well!

WWW is a scheme, linked with the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, that aims to help business’ promote health and wellbeing within the workplace. They believe that by making small changes it could create a ‘more positive workforce’ and can lead to:

  • reduced sickness
  • increase productivity
  • a competitive edge
  • motivated workforce
  • reduced turnover of staff
  • retention of experienced staff
  • enhanced company reputation, attracting new staff and customers

Through this scheme it has motivated us to review our policies and revamp them so that our main focus is our employees. We have set up healthy eating days (much to the team’s dismay), there is a calendar with multiple wellness events that we work towards, and our meetings now include check ins with all employees.

Our directors are so pleased that this initiative was available to the company, as it has moulded and achieved the goals that they set out when the company was started. The directors wanted Willcox Matthews to be a welcoming environment and for the employees to feel that they are valued and respected.

The company is now able to keep on top of our ethics and policies and the Directors hope to develop them more in the future. Our goal is to keep working with our employees and find out what works best for them, making sure that everyone is working to the best of their ability and being supported as fully as they can be by the company.

We have already started working on our Level 2 accreditation and hope to achieve this soon, so watch this space!
